Hustle and bustle is already upon us, and we know that it can be surprisingly difficult to keep up with our self-care practices when our attention (and wallets) are being pulled in so many directions. But never fear, dears, for MOJO is here with tools aplenty to help you stay sane this holiday season.
The holidays always sneak up on us here in Hawaii. The still balmy weather always makes the traditional holiday decorations seem odd and out of place. Yet, Team MOJO still likes to get in on the celebrations however we can. And so we bring to you this week a special Thanksgiving Podcast Party, with every member of Team MOJO in attendance! Join us for egg nog (spiced up), a gluten-free pumpkin pie with macadamia nut ginger streusel recipe, gratitude practice tips, and of course plenty of laughs. Pour yourself a cup of nog and join the fun.
Sthira sukham asanam (Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, 2.46). This sutra reminds us that our poses should represent a receptive strength, putting forth a steady effort, yet creating enough space to be receptive. That last part has become very important for me lately. I go through cycles of including more and more restorative yoga and meditation in my practice, the aim of which is conscious relaxation and mindfulness when the strength part of the equation has started to take more than its fair share.
