The 12th Day of MOJO

On the 12th day of MOJO my true love gave to me...free Yoga for Surfers - Viloma with Jean Marie!

The more intelligent control we have over our breath, the more consciously we can move through our lives. Viloma, or 3 Part Breathing, is an excellent exercise for training our breath control and capacity. This breathing practice is foundational for everyone who wants to build that relationship with the breath, as well as train the mind to find calm while pushing our comfort zones, and even find aid in times of insomnia or scattered energy.

Let things be as they are, on your yoga mat and in your life. A non-stop flow that is slow and sweet. As we move through familiar yoga poses, we become an observer to what is going on in our bodies. It all becomes a reminder that moving quickly doesn't necessarily mean getting more done. Move slow with me and witness the sweet quality of observation.

How To Do Your Own Annual Review

How To Do Your Own Annual Review

As the calendar year 2015 comes to close, we pause to reflect…on how the hell this year went by so fast! Well, at least that’s what I’m thinking. While each year seems to fly by faster than the next, we can feel like we’re struggling just to keep pace and accomplish something, anything that we set out to do in a reasonable space of time. That’s one of the biggest reasons why we started the practicing lifestyle design in our own lives: so we could take some conscious control over the shape of our lives, and start living the lifestyle of our dreams rather than muddling through life as it’s handed to us

The 12 Ways of MOJO

The 12 Ways of MOJO

For all their festive merriment, the holidays can sneakily steal away our source of inner peace before we know it. Fighting to maintain a consistent yoga practice and the MOJO Life that springs from it can be a death match in which the brawny holidays are heavy favorites for the win. So, to ever root for the underdog, we present to you our 12 Ways of MOJO: our top 12 struggles with keeping our mojo alive during the holiday season, some of our top antidotes, and a free video feature for each one from us to you for extra support this week…

Give Thanks. Let Go. Be Happier.

Give Thanks. Let Go. Be Happier.

Sthira sukham asanam (Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, 2.46). This sutra reminds us that our poses should represent a receptive strength, putting forth a steady effort, yet creating enough space to be receptive. That last part has become very important for me lately. I go through cycles of including more and more restorative yoga and meditation in my practice, the aim of which is conscious relaxation and mindfulness when the strength part of the equation has started to take more than its fair share.

Year by Design

(Scroll down to the end for your link to FREE resources to design your year.)

Well, here we are at the end of another calendar year. If the adage holds that time goes faster as we get older, I must be something like 108 years old because this year flew!

I was chatting with a friend about the coming change of annum, and mentioned that my household does a yearly review and sets goals for the new year. She surprised me by saying that she and her family don’t give a flip about the new year or reviewing the old one, that they just “float along” through the years. Wha-wha-what???
