MOJO Yoga's Next Evolution

MOJO Yoga's Next Evolution

We’ve been journeying together with MOJO Yoga for a little over a year now, and some of us for much longer still, on other platforms or even in-person. I can speak for the entire team behind MOJO when I say that we’re so deeply grateful for you, your support, and your desire to make your world a better place through yoga.

Yet, it’s never been about yoga alone. Rather, it’s been about yoga as a seed, as a critical part, of a thriving, vibrant, healthy lifestyle. If you’ve paid attention, you’ve noticed along the way that our big vision here at MOJO is and has always been to help all of us make wellbeing a way of life and to be our best selves in every way possible, every day.

Good Karma For Your Thoughts

Good Karma For Your Thoughts

This week, MOJO Mob, we need your help. You see, we always want to hear from you, and love it when we do. But this week in particular, we really want to hear your thoughts to help us better serve you through MOJO in the future. So, pretty please, take a few moments to let us know what’s on your mind. It’ll really help us out. Thanks a million!

The Dark Side Within

The Dark Side Within

I woke up this morning and just did not want to do yoga. At all. I felt crabby and tired, and the last thing I wanted to do was get up and do some stupid yoga. That's right, I said "stupid yoga." Sometimes, it just starts to feel like, "yoga this, yoga that, yoga, yoga, stinkin' yoga." So, what did I do with myself? I got up and did some yoga. But, maybe not in the way you think…

Laugh It Up

Laugh It Up

We’ve been laughing a lot this week. Well, who am I kidding? We laugh a lot every week. But this week it reminded me of a post I did way back in the day on Laughter Yoga. If you could use a good laugh, enjoy this post along with some updated video clips from yours truly, and from the founder of Laughter Yoga himself, Dr. Madan Kataria. He’s a riot in his own right! Without further ado, on with the blog...

5 Years...And Counting

Read, or scroll, all the way to the end for a link to send us your Infinity Crossing story. As we wind down our time before our move to mymojoyoga.com, we'd really love to hear from you. Thanks, for everything.

Anniversaries have always been a funny thing for me. Many of the occasions I've really wanted to celebrate have somehow managed to elude placement on a definite date. I've often wound up just picking a date that sounded nice to use as my celebratory point if I really wanted an anniversary to acknowledge. After all, space and time is so relative, it's really just what we each make of it anyway, right?

Infinity Crossing fits that mold to be sure. I have no idea what the date was when we very first birthed the idea. I don't even remember the specific conversation. It just sort of always was - always a part of our conversations, our plans, and our actions. I suppose I could pin it to the day Scott and I met, but honestly, we're not too sure what date that was either. Our own anniversary is one of "those" dates, too. I suppose we're both just too busy enjoying life to be bothered with a calendar.

Oh boy, that's a lot of dates that I do know for sure! Yet, now I don't really know which to pick for Infinity Crossing's official anniversary, because they're all really important to me in different ways.  So, methinks we'll call it an anniversary quarter. After all, it's way more fun to celebrate for 3 months than for just one day, right?

So, there we have it. Infinity Crossing is 5 years old...and counting. There really is no greater anniversary present than that of carrying on. What a blessing it's been to create something that 5 years in is not only still going, but that is preparing to evolve and grow yet again. You see, I was momentarily lamenting our lack of an "anniversary party," and being instead called to put out lots of little fires and complete lots of little tasks, just like any other day. And then I realized what an amazing feat it is to have too much to do at the 5 year mark to stop and celebrate. That's the best celebration of all.

As we wind down our time here on infinitycrossing.com, and pack everything up to move in to mymojoyoga.com, I do have one favor to ask of you. If you have a little tidbit about how anything we've done as Infinity Crossing has impacted you, would you please share it with us? Send us your story so we can reminisce together. Here's to countless more trips around the sun learning, doing, and growing. Thanks again for making this all worthwhile.

NAMASTE!

You have grown along with us quite a bit in the last couple of years. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for including yoga in your lives and for learning with us. Now, we’re preparing for more evolution and want to keep you updated on the changes to come. We are happy to report that Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini are moving forward to concentrate on their in-studio offerings, and will be phasing out of the online practice space in the coming weeks. We hope that yoga ushers many blessings into their lives in the future.

My team and I here in the online space are fulfilling our vision to include great teachers from all styles and systems of yoga. We already offer you, the student, a uniquely personalized and guided online practice experience, taking the guesswork out of your home practice. We know that change can be hard, believe me. Yet, we’re so sure you’ll love our new solutions to yogafy your life that we’re giving all existing members the first month in our new evolution completely free. Simply login when we make the change and check it out. And as always, if it’s just not your cup-o-tea, you may cancel anytime.

Our vision has and always will be to make the gift of yoga more accessible to more lives on this planet. We are working hard every day to ensure that we’re constantly growing in service of that mission.

We’ll keep you up to date as we roll out every exciting new feature of our continuous evolution. As always, we want to hear from you. Where Is Your Threshold?

In Maya Yoga there are three indicators that let you know if you’ve gone beyond your threshold. The threshold is the point where there’s no more learning taking place. The best thing you can do when you've reached your threshold is come to child's pose and take a rest.

The first indicator that you need to come down and take a rest is your breath. If you can't continue to breathe through your nose, if you're gasping for air out of your mouth, or if you're holding your breath, it's time to come down and take a rest.

The second indicator is a Sanskrit term, angamejayedva. It means "the shaking of the limbs." So if you feel yourself shaking in the postures, and you can't control that shaking with either your mind or your breath, then come down and take a rest.

The third indicator is the ability to create action in the pose. If you feel defeated by the posture, or it's no longer ascending, then please come down and take a rest.

The best thing you can do when you’ve reached your threshold is come to child’s pose (Balasana) and relax until your breath has regained a smooth quality and you feel ready to try more work. Use these indicators to help you tune into your body and practice yoga safely at home. Remember, always be nice to yourself!
